چکیده
Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is a noninflammatory spondyloarthropathy characterized by ectopic calcification of spinal cord tissue. Its etiology possibly polygenic. However, its pathogenesis and systemic effects remain unclear. Recent studies have reported high prevalence DISH in heart failure patients. The authors investigated how the incidence severity are associated with vascular occurrence cardiovascular events. In this retrospective chart review study, 500 patients disease who underwent surgery (cardiovascular events group) non-cardiovascular computed tomography scans (non-cardiovascular were randomly selected to investigate degree ossification anterior longitudinal ligament DISH. We found that was higher had more coronary arteries aorta. Next, we examined relationship between aortic calcification, DISH, event group. groups 31.4% 16.5%, respectively (p = 0.007). Aortic predominant certain level suggest some correlation This study important understanding pathophysiology

Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis: Forestier's disease.
Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) or Forestier's disease is characterized by calcification and ossification of soft tissue entheses of ligaments and tendons. DISH is believed to be a variant of osteoarthritis (OA) without the degenerative intervertebral disc and joint degenerative qualities seen in classic OA. The likely pathoetiologic causes of DISH are presented.
متن کاملDiffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis Involving Cervical and Lumbar Spine Presenting with Dysphagia: A Case Report
Introduction: Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis (DISH) is a very rare cause of dysphagia when it occurs in the cervical spine. It can also affect the lumbar region where it causes deformity. Case Report: In this article, a rare case of Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis involving both the cervical and lumbar spine, presenting with dysphagia and spinal stiffness leading to a stoopin...
متن کاملDiffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH): Forestier's disease with extraspinal manifestations.
The extraspinal manifestations of Forestier's disease are described in 21 consecutive cases; diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is suggested as a more appropriate description of this ossifying diathesis. Characteristic roentgen abnormalities of the spine were present in all individuals and associated with significant axial clinical complaints. In extraspinal locations, hyperostosis...
متن کاملDiffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH): is it of vascular aetiology?
OBJECTIVE Reassessment of the pathological features of spinal involvement in DISH and studying the possible aetiopathogenetic mechanism/s of DISH in view of clinical, radiological and pathological findings. METHODS Forty Egyptian patients with DISH were included in this study. They underwent clinical and radiological assessment. Routine lab tests were done in addition to measuring blood sugar...
متن کاملExtraspinal manifestations of diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis.
DISH is a condition characterized by calcification and/or ossification of soft tissues, mainly entheses, ligaments and joint capsules. Its prevalence increases with age and, therefore, DISH is a relatively common entity in the elderly. The classical site of involvement is the spinal column with right anterolateral soft tissue ossification being the most characteristic feature. However, DISH is ...
